Our Why:
Heart Risks Start Young

By the time youth reach their late teens, 1 in 6 (16.7%) already show signs of developing heart disease. This is why early education and screening is essential to prevention.

Elevated Blood Pressure Rates by Age Group

Elevated Blood Pressure Rates Among U.S. Youth

NHANES data of 2,600 U.S. youth aged 8–19 from 2017 to 2020 found that rates of elevated blood pressure rose sharply with age: about 3.3% of 8–12-year-olds, 10% of 13-17-year-olds, and 16.7% of 18–19-year-olds (AHA, 2024).

Our Solution:
Storytelling

HeartHeritageProject advocates for youth cardiovascular disease awareness by elevating patient stories on navigating heart health.

HHP also creates initiatives to reach communities and leave a lasting impact of education about treatment, prevention and management of heart disease.

The hope is that these stories highlight the personal hardships, pride, and lessons learned. By doing so, we humanize the impact of youth cardiovascular disease and showcase diversity in experiences.
